Private Beauty HOP Gallery (2009) & Confrontations in Tallinn Art Hall (2010)
Field of Babel (2009) 45 match boxes, found advertisements (collected in London)
Advertisements balance on a thin line between useful and annoying and can instantly influence both: the consciousness and unconsciousness. By cutting out even a tiny piece of a name card or a flyer, one can still re-collect something of the possible context it came from. The faces and strange messages are all mixed up in the art work in a way they can also normally be found in the city streets. By placing them into a match box, one can create a new dialogue between different advertisements that is not directed towards any consumers, but is there just for it’s own sake.
